From the recording A TIME IN BAY BULLS
Lyrics
With the price of gas this year - you don’t have a dime to spare
When you have to put your money in the tank
But there’s one man who fooled them all - and he’s having quite a ball
He’s the man down the harbour called the Yank.
His vehicle so small - it don’t use no gas at all
With one wheel on the front and none on back
It is powered by two men - using one on either end
And the Yank sits in the middle on a sack.
One day as he rode by - he was feline kinda high
His arms were waving’ in the noon day sun.
His throat was feeling dry - he had boozin’ on his mind.
And he really had them two men on the run.
The man who was in front - let out a mighty grunt
As he pulled upon the rope to tow the yank
And the man back at the rear - he had quite a lot to fear
For the Yank back-fired like an army tank
This vehicle you know - is called a wheelbarrow
As a means of travel it was mighty slack
Until Yankee came along - hired two men for a song
To take him to the tavern and then back
So if you’re ridin’ by - and happen to espy
A man who’s drivin’ in a wheelbarrow
Don’t t’ink he’s such a fool - for he’s playin it quite cool
He’s the only one the Mounties can not catch
And he has hasn’t failed the Breathalyzer yet
